"Shreddie"- How it all began
Guitar prototype #0025 was borne of a concept to build a stunning but functional instrument, lightweight and responsive but without the complications of traditional designs. "Shreddie" was an answer to Bare Bonz' need to create just such a guitar. Employing a large top horn and an elongated body, Shreddie provided a wonderful balance and a lightness that would work perfectly on a vibrant stage. The iconic shape also serves as a built in handle and the guitar can easily be raised high over one's head for memorable moments. It is a stage guitar, meant for raucous performance as well as delicate soulful leads and cutting rhythm.
The body was built from select British Columbia Alder for its light weight and tonal qualities, similar criteria for some of America's iconic electric guitars. Atop was placed a beautiful bookmatched maple fillet which was then stained to bring out the very best of the grain. Heart shaped tuners and a gutsy Artec AINiCo5 pick-up combined with a 25 1/2 scale birds-eye maple fretboard with a two way adjustable truss rod, completes the stellar custom build package.

Our bass instrument is a masterpiece of wood and balance, not just ergonomics but ultimately bold tonality.
The body was built from select British Columbia Poplar with delicate accents at the body tips. The trademark Bare Bonz 4 + 1 headstock tops the instrument along with the branded logo which tells everyone this is an instrument and a bass player who mean business; they wouldn't be wrong.
